windows 7 - Apache Hive on a 32-bit OS -

is possible run hive on 32-bit os? have set hadoop on windows7 using cygwin, , got pseudo-distributed mode running. no problems here.

i installed hive none of hive queries seem work. seem stuck.

i type "bin/hive" hive prompt. none of hive commands seem work after that. seem stuck (no errors thrown).

i read somewhere hive not support 32-bit oses, i'm not sure. if yes, there alternative hive runs on hadoop on 32-bit os? or there versions of hive compatible 32-bit os?

i have run hive in 32bit os without problem. check link minimum requirements.

you might have configuration issues.

for information, as know, hive runs nothing hadoop mapreduce jobs. so, it's kind of layer on mapreduce jobs. if hadoop jobs running perfectly, hive should too.
