there number of powershell cmdlets wasnt aware of. complete list can found in documentation.
i don't find step-by-step guide once came across, there several others out there descript how connect powershell lync server (like this).
i haven't tested of these scripts, microsoft provides list of useful scripts administrate lync (link).
the problem looking was: how hide disabled user accounts in lync contact list. can done ticking checkbox "hide user global address list" in exchange (note: when done via e.g. vbscript takes time before gal updated, in case account first vanished gal , next morning disappeared lync contact list).
